Foot fetish...x4

Gross

Chillin on the First Day of Spring

Earlier this week we had 80 degree weather.
That is unheard of in Longmont this time of year.  Usually it is our snowiest month and this week we turned on the sprinklers.
We Opened windows and did a bit of relaxing.
Getting ready for Spring

fixed some flat tires
had guitar lessons with Daddoo

waited patiently for a walk, or a treat, or anything really

and worked on the Pixel Painting.
This painting was not as "simple" as I had intended and I have crammed it all over the house so as not to see it.
These next two months are my "get shit finished" months…so it came back to the art room.
You know what I actually relaxed a bit while working on it.
We will see how it turns out/
Can you tell what it is?

Have a good first day of Spring.
I'm knitting, running and then abs and shoulders….How about you?

Vlad Shawl …done!…and a wee bit sick

I've been sick.  I took care of a lady who had Gastroenteritis and no matter how many times I washed my hands I knew I was going to get it.  She had butt water.  it was everywhere.  I think it just seaped into my pores.  So, to say the least, I have been feeling like shit, literally, shit.  Stomach ache, snot, achy.  I just want to curl up and sleep.
Olive cried last night when I said I just can't go to the Burrito place with you guys (as my stomach is rolling)  "You never eat with us any more!!!!!!" So I sucked it up and went.  Then rolled around in bed clutching at my bowels.
I took some medicine before bed then had all those crazy sick people dreams.  You know, dead parents hanging out in the back ground.  A few of the dead brothers.  I actually think I wrote a novel in that dream and I KNEW I should have written it down as soon as I woke up, but now I have forgotten it.  Hey, on the good side, my mom (the dead one in the dream) kept telling me how great it was.

I finally completed the Vlad Shawl.  I can now check" knitting lace" off my bucket list.  I don't wear shawls so not sure where this one will end up.

The weather is crazy hot out and of course I feel to sick to enjoy it.

Maybe I'll spend a bit of time trying to remember how that novel started.

Oh…you are so PROUD of YOURSELF

Become a part of something bigger than yourself.
Lately I have been surprised at the boasting of self love and "how great I am"…well prove it.

One Step forward…you know the rest

Things have been moving along at normal household pace, which is fast when you want it to be slow and slow right when you are thinking, "come on all ready!"
Ilin Blue has been getting a bit or hair regrowth on the top of his head, how exciting is that?  contain yourself…He has enough that he says, "Hey Mom, when can we dye it?"   Uhmmmmm…. when you are 21, period.  This is a perfect example of lack of frontal lobe in teen boys.
He heads back to the doctor………

sooner than later, and here's why:
Hair growth good.
Tuberculosis, not so much.
Yes, you read it it correctly.
 My kid got TB.
I don't know where you live, if its a 3rd world country then you know all about how TB works.  If you live in Ohio, probably wondering what kind of ghetto do I live in.
Our High School had an outbreak.  Just like the movies.  You can google Longmont High  and find all kinds of info.  Just like the movies, they did the best they knew at the time by only testing the kids with direct contact of the Student, and waiting to check the lower classes.   Oh happy day.
As and RN.  I freaked out right away, started running around like I had one short leg (in circles)  thinking , "they need to close the school, NOW, before everyone in town has it.  Shut that shit down like a Stephen King novel".  But did they listen to me?   No.  And that is partially my fault because I never attened any community meeting.
Well…3 months later and the fact that my scrawny kid appears to be getting sicker instead of healthier we get a call from the hospital with a kind voice saying, "you need to bring Ilin to the ER for chest X-rays, he tested Postive for TB"
Fabulous.  Now, why wouldn't they have thought about the few kids who have auto immune, or comprimised systems?  they wouldn't.

So, here we are.  One scared kid with access to the internet, looking up death in the 19th century from TB and the rest of both of our households, heading to get our tests and chest X-rays.  I've been banned from work until I am cleared because who wants a nurse hacking TB onto them while she places an IV in your arm?
This too shall pass.
As usual, just another bump on the highway of life.

Baby Worries? Lighten Up

My niece is having another baby.  Baby number 2. We are very excited….
 Here are her worries:
Old crib, from maybe 3-4 years ago.  Crib will slide open lock baby's head against the wall and kill baby….or the baby will somehow fall out and hit the floor.
They make a lock fix for it, she does not trust it.
Hmmmmmm…
I understand the worries of motherhood.  But mostly of gangsters, shootings, bad grades, heart break and embarrasement.  Never once did I worry my kids would fall from the crib.
Oh, don't get me wrong…they fell from the crib.
Hell, Ilin's bottom of his crib fell right out one time.

They also did things like stack the million stuffed animals we used to place in the crib and crawl over the railing and land head first on the floor.  Guess what?  they miraculously lived.
Yes a miracle huh?

We had cribs in our family for 25 years…
We had cribs that rocked and if you stood to close to the edge or placed the baby not in the center, it tilted. Did we panic and go buy another $500 crib?  naaaaa, we just pushed that bad boy against the wall, maybe placed a chair in front of it and shut the door.  Guess what?   The kids lived.  Miracle huh?
This is exactly what Olive slept in:
She could bounce that thing and get it tpo move across the hardwood floor.
We think she was trying to get to the fridge…
How about this?

Probably made by Ikea
Looks safe enough to me

What I'm trying to say is most kids live past the crib years …and if you know a kid who died from a tragic crib accident , I'm sorry.

Ps :
I also fed my kids starawberries, Peanut butter, eggs,…gave them people food as soon as they grabbed for it and you know what?….I put rollerskates on their feet that locked over their shoes without a helmet and told them to go play in the street.
Bad mom?
or real mom?

Hahaha
My brothers lived, my sisters lived…
nieces and nephews….
crib worries?
f@&k it.
