ya know....

there are certain body parts which don't get the recognition they should from me.

I just realized the other day that my vagina, vajajay, hootchie, peach, etc does not get the love it so rightly deserves .

I had a Doctors appointment and , like going to the beach, I said "let's make sure the garden is tidy"

I spend time on a daily basis, cleaning and shaving around the edges etc...but I don't always go all out.

What's the point?  It's just me and it really is not like someone might come along and say ...."hey, let me critique your edging" Although it would be gladly appreciated if someone did come along and want to critique in a nice manner....

So, as I showered I teetered on one leg, lathered and shaved carefully around all the parts. front to back.... 

It brought me back to my younger years when I helped the girls at the Gold Club in Atlanta shave their tweens where they could not reach or see and we would laugh and make literal 

"smart ass remarks" ...

Those were the weird old days and how I got that job for that short amount of time I cannot even remember.

As I shaved my tween, I thought....I think I might like someone to do this for me, yet I'm not willing to go get anything waxed (way too personal)...so fancy razor and me , myself and , I it is.

When one shaves delicate areas there is a lot of yoga poses and balancing acts....

bending and hand play to get everything smooth.

The back end is harder still because the area is not so forgiving.

The final part is a nice little haircut on the front.

I have embraced hair.

I used to shave it all or leave little parts but I have since decided I like some fur....

although my fur is straight and that has always bothered me, maybe someone had commented one time?

who knows,

but I have let it grow but keep it short.

and occasionally I shave it because I, personally like the smooth feeling...

especially after a shower shave and baby oil.

women are often extremely sensitive to the looks of their lady parts down there. 

What is normal?

Why is it this way and her's is that way?

Porn only shows nice little "girl like" ones

This is so traumatizing to some women that they have taken to cutting there labias off to please the other sex's visual choice.

I don't think I have ever heard a man say...

"I'm gonna get my penis reconstructed because the ones I see on TV are huge and look like a PBR tall boy"

never....nope never

My finished manicured garden looked lovely and I was pretty sure the doctor would appreciate.

doctors appointment was a different story

all is good 

take care of your garden, and manicure that lawn anyway that makes YOU happy

Because, I think most people who enter your garden are just grateful they were invited to the garden

Artsy Crafty Stuff

Day after Mother's Day and I had the day off.

It's nice, and although I wanted to just lay around and contemplate life, I got my ass up and checked a few things off my list.

I did some crafty things...

finished up a few projects and tidied some stuff which had been bothering me, but seemed daunting to  start.

It really wasn't.  Honestly, I was just a bit lazy.

My sewing/ and knitting room had turned into a spider haven and dump area for the family.

So, I got in there, vacuumed and put the yarn into the little boxes where it should live, cleaned the tables of the 2" of dust and threw out a bunch of old fabric and garbage.  Still have stuff to chuck, but it is a start.

I figure if I am going to be here, I might as well make it what I want.

It definitely needs a revamp, but I enjoy the shabby chic coziness.

Once I was tidied I used up some old fabric and whipped a test run of a scrub hat for work.

They cost about 15$ so I figured I would make a few, save some cash and use up some fabric. 

It will work to get my lil bit of hair all covered for surgeries and have a little sassy flair too.

Then in order to stay on track I headed outside and worked in the yard.

I mulched everything.

and the front yard....everything is mulched.  I don't think I have ever finished mulching the entire yard in the same year.

I enjoy working in the yard.  It is just sometimes a bit overwhelming, but as I work on each little section each year it becomes easier and actually seems to take care of itself now.

I really just have to maintain stuff...pull some weeds and add some color.

I keep digging up the grass because I find it a nuisance.

That all took quite a while.

But when I was cleaning the sewing room I found my trusty glue gun and glue sticks and that was my reward.

When I went to Costa Rica last time I noticed they had all these sparkly mirror hanging things from the balconies.  I just loved them and asked about them.  They said it was to keep the monkeys from those areas, and that they made them ...you couldn't buy them.

So today, I sat down and made some for my back deck.

I love my back deck when everything is blooming. So the addition will be perfect.

to make the sparkly things you need 

1. fishing line

2. beads of any sort, but a couple of heavier ones to weigh the string down

3. glass squares (you can get them at any Michaels or such)

4. glue gun

I like them about 3 to 4 feet long. I make a loop at one end then I glue the fishing line in-between the 2 little glass squares.  As I go down the string I put a bead in-between the mirrors.  At the end I like to add a skull bead or a crystal bead to catch the sun.

Sparkly, cheap, easy.

Here I think you might be able to see them hanging behind the swing from the trumpet vine which hasn't bloomed yet.

So, my day was productive. I still need to run and clear my brain...

but, it feels good to get things done, throw things away and make my space relaxing and mine.

DIY Garden Glass Globe Mushrooms

It is still not full blown Spring here in Colorado, but in between blizzrds we get some nice 78 degree weather.  Still too cold to start gardening, but we do start tidying up the beds.

It keeps all of us gardner types happy for a while.

While taking a break from pulling dandelions I decided to make a few things.

I like the way mushrooms look and I really wanted some yard art for my , well for my yard.

I was flipping through Pinterest and saw some glass mushrooms.

Easy enough.

I see light fixture leftovers at every thrift store so we went on an excursion to find them.

$4.25 later I had the makings for 2 LED garden mushrooms

you , too, can have these.

Junk you need:

(for 2 mushrooms)

4 vase like sconces or whatever you think will work and look cute for mushroom stem

2 Large light fixture bowls

(see picture)

2 LED light candles *or you can use real candles just be careful

lock tite glue or gorilla glue

 Here are the old lamp parts

I put a piece of tape here to hold the little LED "flickering candle"

But if you are using candles, do it like a pumpkin, or you could use those LED little string lights.

See ,stack it up .

I actually did not glue anything but if I was going to glue I would only glue the "stem" and leave the cap removable

There they are.

They are going to look great when all the little flowers are popping up around them

100 degrees here in colorado

It's too hot for Ed to even get into trouble. He has taken to the laundry room to lay on the cool floor. The Mexican Rat ie: chihuahua, Sheeba, loves it. Shes out there right now, laying on the 400 degree deck roasting like a mini pig.

I started digging up the grass. It still looks horrible. But I had to do something. Bob said, "Hey? What's going on out there by my new decking?"

Uhhhhh a mess? I promised it will look fine one I have a few days to work it out

I planted 3 Delphiniums for height and color. I bought some lemon thyme for the edge, then I will get some red wood chips and such to match the deck.

Still working on some edging. want something sassy, so I'm still thinking.

Tomorrow is Olive's 6th bday. We have 8 lil girls coming over to do some tye dye!

One problem. I forgot I work tonight...all night til tomorrow.

I've made the cream cheese frosting, put together the little gift bags, Bobby can make the cupcakes...and hopefully I will be able to pull it off by 1 pm tomorrow.

pee lawn..whatever is a girl to do?

It's the summer time and the lawn looks like shit in the back! I need to dig it up, but where shall I start? look at it!!!!

Wait, as you look at it admire the new deck walkway first...ok now go back to the pee lawn.

There is absolutely no "after", yet.

I started digging it up, but jeeeez, grass is hard to dig !!! 2 hours and a blister later it still looks about the same, so I decided to come in and fantasize about my yard as it should be:

How does one get something like that? Can you swing by the Home Depot, load up 27 illegals, 27 cases of Corona, and then "POOF" you have Serenity? I drove down to Home Depot to get a tomato cage and looked for the day laborers, they must have been in siesta.

Maybe I should set my sights on something like this:

If I did something like this, I would have a fabulous excuse to drink lots of wine or beer or stuff, not water, which comes in Blue Bottles. That is inspirational to me..and enticing.

Bobby would say it looks like Sanford and Son, but I like it.

I love gnomes, but I would have to move to get this...all we have are sewer racoons as big as yetis and shaggedy foxes of the 4 legged kind.

I guess I'll don my gloves and give it a go again.

Father's Day

Yesterday was gorgeous. We spent the day at the Westword Music Festival. In and out of small bars watching awesome local bands. We didn't make it to the end due to the fact ...well, we were plain ol tired. We started at 11 am at Broadways...had some of the best Bloody Mary's I've had in a while, then off to Dazzle for Mahi Mahi sliders and a set by the Informants. They were great as usual. It was also the start of Gay Pride Week so the company was beyond spectacular. It was great to be out and about in the sunshine with not a care in the world. Great friends and great music. One of my new favorite local bands I got to see yesterday was "Yerkish". They are the epitome of local awesome music that should be more well known.

Today is Father's Day. Daddy got a new drill and a Tshirt...and is now outside cursing at the hotrod. (starter is broken, he's trying to get a new one in before this guy comes to look at it)...While he is practicing his sailor speak, I finished up the cushions for the patio. They came out nice. I love it when a task is completed. I sat outside as Olive worked on her artskills and contemplated life. Life is good.

I work tonight. I am looking forward to a night of learning, as always.

Tomorrow I think I will start my next part of gardening. A path around the garden, removal of dead yukky grass and more perennials. I'll have to take a before and after. I hope everyone is having a great Father's Day

Making my garden grow

Little sprouts in the garden have reminded me of all the fresh starts which are going on right now. It is a daunting task to start fresh, very daunting. Start small is what I say.

That is what I did, I cleaned out the shed...

I can now get in there!

(doesn't look clean...should have seen it before!)

I mowed the lawn.

I found my new dahlias under the sage (this made me happy).

I weeded.

I also got a wonderful email from a fellow nursing student who I helped get a job in an area where they never hire new grads. She was so excited and I'm excited for her!

Good Karma points for all...good karma, I believe it is what may make my garden grow.
