This morning on the way in to work I heard this fabulous little "resolution" on NPR. It was about "not taking it personal" I am going to incorporate this into my New Year's goals.
Don't take it personal, so easily said, yet so hard to do, but if you can, life's doors open oppose to close. I have told Snowy many times that when she gets a reply or an odd answer from her father, to remember where it is coming from. I think we all need to just continue to do the best we can and give the love and support we do, to the people we encounter, and NOT take it personally when they are unable to give us the response that we want. It's not personal, people give what they can and know how to.
I will try to do this when Bobby blames me, or someone else, for a trivial problem. It's not his fault, it's just the way he is. It's not my fault, and I can't do anything about it. No amount of yelling is going to change it, but when I don't react in a "personal manner" then it just slides away. Water off a duck's back. Zip.
If someone sends me a mistake I made at work. It's not personal, it's work. I'll try to do it better. It's the only way to get things done.
The hardest aspect of this is in relationships, as I stated above. Everyone has their own agenda and each of us cross another's paths on our own way. Instead of getting hung up on the issues brought on by others, just let it go. How liberating. They have their life to live and we each have our's. Just do your best, be your best, and pay it forward, don't expect too much and I believe sooner or later it will come back in gold.

give this a try:
Go thru a Starbucks drive thru or even at the counter and buy the person behind you their coffee. Just ask the window person how many people she sees in the car...usually one or 2 and give her 10$ and say, "I want to pay it forward and buy their coffee, could you let them know...and here is a few extra dollars just in case they get something crazy :) " Something so trivial won't change the world, but it will give a single person hope for mankind. I swear. Try it....and let me know. :)

projects
these are the 2 bags I made for the girls. felt and fabric.
big one is a carry bag, the other is a camera bag
close up of the camera bag
little softies for the guest bedroom.
I am also working on a skull sweater for Olive. just started the back of it today. The neck about killed me. I actually didn't understand the directions. No matter how many times I read it it was like reading Chinese.
getting ready for the new year :)
It's going to be a good thing. I swear. Things will come together for all of us...I feel there will be major changes for all of us on our plates, even for the few of us who have been stuck in the same circle. The young princess's are off to NY city in the early Spring and Didi and I have to try not to worry. Yes, it is just for a visit, but these girls...uh, what should I say...hopefully the goal to learn the entire subway system won't lead them to the pits of Hell. :) They are smart, so we will give them the benefit of a doubt. If anyone who reads this has any suggestions for them as to where to visit and great places to eat....email me!
My few goals for the new year are slim but grand. I hope you have made some goals also.
1. no more paper towels...I am making fabric cloths that can be thrown in the washer. Easy as pie. Hopefully we will be as easily adaptable.
2. My first 5k. Spring time.
3. Get thru nursing school with as little stress as possible and keep the big goal in mind.
4. Take a vacation for myself, either just with the gals or just with Bobby. No kids or stress (not that those 2 go hand in hand but you know what I mean).
I'm at work today getting caught up on all the crap I had leftover from last week. Olive had the flu and hopefully this will be the last family illness I need to deal with for a while. It's just too much to be a working mom and be the one they call for when they are sick. I guess that is the price we pay.
I must leave now and get to work. I will post those "project pictures one at a time this evening while Bobby is at practice"

almost xmas
Well, it's been a while. We went to Princess Wishes...I know for sure now that I'm not fond of anything that involves showtunes and the "on ice" part....Unless it's dragqueens.
We had our holiday party. It was nice. I will post pictures shortly.
My holiday shopping is almost done. I only need to buy for Olive. The last part is wrapping everything. I have pictures of what I did for the girls, but I don;t want to post them til I give them to them.
We have had the stomach bug at our house. Olive, bless her heart was so sick for about 3 days. Dry heaves are not fun for little ones! Yesterday I went home from work with a queasy stomach and low and behold Bobby came home too. Lord knows I can't be sick by myself for a day. He crawled into bed and started whining like a beat puppy. Made me so mad. Of course I still had to get up and fix the kids dinner and do all the parent stuff because " he was soooo sick".
What is wrong with men? Big baby

Good Things and Bad Things All at Once
Snowing again today it's beautiful.
Tonight Princess Olive ,Princess Titsy and I are all going to Princess Wishes On Ice. Bobby has agreed to drive us there so that we don't get lost. I always get lost!. I'm so glad Princess Titsy is going with us because I would never make it on my own. I am bringing a flask. That's all I'm saying.
Here are a few of the good things that are going on and happening. I got into nursing school and start in January. We ordered our iMAC. I got my Xmas bonus from work and I will get my incentive bonus before Xmas. The holidays are here :) and the Xmas party is around the corner.
Here are a few of the crappy things that are going on. My tax guy filed my taxes wrong and claimed Ilin, when he was to be claimed by his dad this year so I have to pay 1600 to the IRS at Xmas time :(. I'm just going to put it on a credit card and hope for the best in the future. I'm stresses about the school thing because I don't have much support from Bobby. I will still have to work full time and go to school on a 20 hour schedule...and maintain family peace.
I need to remember that going to school is only for 5 months then 5 months again for an approximate 30 an hour pay raise. After that I will be able to do the things I enjoy without stress and I will be able to ensure my kids get what they need. I want to take my family on vacations around the world... If I keep that in the picture, I can do this.
Well, I better get to work. I hope everyone has a great weekend. oh yeah , I hope us girls get together to do our hair. :) that will make me happy
