BACK...
But not 100%.
here's how I know:
Got up at 430 am to get to work and make a few bucks...left the house with my lunch but forgot my work badge, my purse, wallet and everything else. lordy
I don't have the flu, that is good. Just some sort of nasty cold which is going around.
I'm still tired.
I have a huge test on Thursday for Pharmacology and pharmacodynamics (nice word huh?). study study study.
I'm sure by the end of the day I will have something funny and possibly intelligent to say, so stay tuned.
in return...i just want you guys to know I still love you!!!

I like...
When I get the IV in on the first try....
almonds
sprinkles on white frosting
impractical shoes
knowing I'm right
when the clouds look like they are upside down
the feel of a loving hand on the back of my neck
a best girlfriend's hug and cheek kiss for good bye
when they turn the sprinklers on at the cemetery
rolly pollies
clean sheets

morning sunshine
Every morning I come to work without my makeup on. I know I shouldn't but I'm tired and getting a 5 year old out of the house in a timely manner takes every bit of essence out of me. So, instead, I come to work with makeup in bag and do it in my office. whatever. Sometimes I don't do it at all.
So, yesterday morning, Wendy says, "let's go down to the cafeteria and get some breakfast." OKie dokie. We head down the stairs and I say, "shit, I didn't put on my eyes" (because this is what Southern girls with blonde/red eyelashes say).
"Who exactly do you plan on seeing in our dumpy cafeteria?"
Well ya know what ? You never know. You should always be ready...just in case someone famous is down there and you want to comment on their last movie or book and not scare the bajeesus outta them.
"yea, I guess you are right", I said. "Who could be there?"
I mean really, short of the overweight I.T. guy eating his weight in green chili burritos and the occasional street person...who could I see down there.
Breakfast it is.
As I came around the corner, who was standing waiting for some scrambled egg whites or whatever a Greek God at the Hospital eats....
This Guy...or at least someone who looked just like that, in nice scrubs.

I ducked my head down as I heard Wendy laughing. Really!? REALLY? Where does HE work....? must be ER...
Wendy sidles up next to me as I get my water and I glance over my shoulder ...he's checking out Wendy's legs as far as I can tell.
"Oh My GOD...I am never listening to you again...I TOLD you, you never know!!!"
damnit..
note to self...always put on your eyes...just in case, even if Wendy says, "It's just street people and I.T guys".

Eat well...be well,feel well

If you are not eating this stuff...you should be. Greek yogurt. I must say it is an acquired taste, but so are martinis...so work out it. it is 0% fat and 15g of protein. I add some ground flaxseed to get my Omega-3's and it does the job. I'm a bit of a lazy purist. I never really add anything to my healthy foods. For instance, oatmeal...i eat it just cooked with water and I add flaxseed...no sugar, honey, fruit...nothing. So I do the same with yogurt. My taste buds are easily confused and if I start adding yummy unhealthy stuff, then I have a hard time eating regular flavors, plus I like to save as many fat calories for really good stuff (beer).
I started training for a half marathon. I picked the Boulder Backroads in September which gives me more than ample time to be ready. 13.1 miles...Everyone who runs says, if you run 5 miles you can run 13. This makes no sense in my mind, but I'll roll with it. All I can think is,"13.1 miles is like getting up, getting ready for work, and then bypassing the car or bus and running to work." Makes it sound miserable.
For the training I am using a schedule at marathonrookie.com. My first little goal is a 5k around the 4th of July...then the 1/2...hell, maybe I'll be ready for the whole marathon by then.
I bought new shoes...am going to revamp my diet...and off I'll run. Did you know for every mile you run you burn at least 100 calories...AT LEAST!!!! Sweeet. Running and 30 minute Shred.
do you want to virtual train with me?

Night at the Group...

There is a bar down the street called "Group Therapy". This is in ingenious name considering the derelicts which hang out there. It's the type of place where you are worried about your car, where you parked and how far it is from the parking space to the actual door. Once inside, just as scary.
We went to see a friend's band , "Burn", which plays absolutely NO original music. All 80's except for the few Nickelback crap songs they throw in. It's like Karaoke, but louder. It's almost as if you are in the middle of, let's just say, Opp, Alabama in the only bar with all the locals jamming in their big white sneakers playing air-guitar to Van Halen, beer dancing, and karate kicking... and it all seems OK....until you step back out into reality and realized you were in some sort of David Lynch movie.
After belting out Jessie's Girl and a few Toto hits I told Synda she had to come to the bathroom with me. I sure as hell wasn't going alone. As we rounded the corner to the bathroom we could all ready smell it.
Synda says, "Oh my God...I'm not going in there."
I on the other hand am a bit more adventurous and also work in a hospital so the smell was bearable, plus I had to pee, bad.
I walked in, walked out, "Give me my camera!"
Here's what I saw:

yes that is blood...lovely...but besides the stench, for some reason the toilet was clean.
very juxtapose, don't you think?

I got the hell outta there...but I did pee, balancing carefully.
When we got back to the table, Joe was making nice with the locals.

If these people are any of YOUR people, I guess I should apologize, but I won't because it was quite comical.
Although Joe did not have his Hooker Money available, he got a free picture to remember the event.
I believe she is trying to convince Joe for a 20$ you know what. That is why he is laughing.

This guy lost his pants and his teeth.
I'm not sure why we felt we needed to be discreet while photographing him. He was hammered.
We finished up our crappy beer and left via the cloud of cigarette smoke outside the front door, and watched the remainder of said family above dragging each other to the motel across the street. I bet they will have a nice time.
Another fabulous night at the Group Therapy.
If ever in Longmont CO. you must visit the Group.

Friday from the Universe
Friday...thank you, thank you for getting me through the week. My letter from the Universe ,yes I get email from the Universe, along with Hancock fabrics,Borders, and some odd email from Christian Singles(?), anyway the message said:
"Feeling incomplete does not make you so. It's how legends are born, giants are made, and history is written. It's why you're here. To ever so briefly escape your true identity as you live with an unquenchable thirst that will lead into adventures of grandeur, discovery, and a realization that love is all there is.
You so rock, M
The Universe"
With that said, today I think I will concentrate on not quantity of daily crap, but my form.
Sit back, relax, think, think:
form
I can do it...
Escape true identity...feel uneasy,do something harder than usual:

Visualizing
I've been visualizing...
I have 120 days until my vacation. I can do it. The biggest loser does it in 90 days, if even that.
So, I'm thinking getting a 5'2' body down to 107 # is feasible.

of course I don't have my own airbrusher....but I can do this.My letter from the "Universe" said to me this morning
"Keep visualizing, M, keep visualizing"
Along with my thoughts I have tried to pick up my workouts.
I did my hot yoga Sunday.
Actually made myself a bit sick when I was laying down in Vinyase and all I could smell was Nachos. If that wasn't a sign to stop stuffing my little trap with cheese I don't know what is.
Visualize, M...
I am trying to eat more protein and do my cardio and strength. I think I really need to pump up the cardio to 5 days a week, but my schedule doesn't allow it right now, unless I can squeeze it in at work....
I'm going to take a picture of myself so that I can do a comparison, scary huh?
Tonight I have school then we are off to see my other boyfriend, Scott Weiland, play in Denver.

Denver? #1?
So, my little neck of the woods was voted the #1 wanted place to live...meaning when they surveyed people, they said if they were to move they would pick ...here.
I'm sure you have all seen Dumb and Dumber
This is my drive on my way into work. This picture doesn't sum it up...but when the sun hits those flatirons they glow, when the snow is on them, they look like sugar dusted cookies, and the sky above is always this amazing blue...except at sunset when it is a crazy pink-orange.
To my left, as I drive , there is open space where this time of year they have grass fed cows just enjoying the fields...not feed lots. Open space and cattle. Very nice to see as I drive in.
We keep it a bit of a secret around here. It's nice and as much as we sometime complain about how cold it is....it's really not bad. Last week we hiked in 70 degree weather, without having to drive 40 miles , and then it snowed the next day. Here are just a few things that we have which makes us pretty cool.

We have Champagne Powder
and not 100 miles away...You can go to Eldora (less than 35 minutes) and still get a pass for the day for about 40$. Or you can head to Vail, Breck, Loveland,Aspen, Copper,A-Basin, Winterpark, Mary Jane...see what I mean?

Denver skyline and the bike path....all the way from Cherry Creek to Downtown. A very popular summer activity.
We aren't just Granola out here. We have a killer nightlife.
Some of the best Dj's come through Denver. We have great local bars, clubs, dives and killer local live music.
Is Art your thing...we have the DAMM free every first Saturday of the month.
You can enjoy Art at it's finest in one of the coolest locations in the US.
We also have First Fridays...Cocktails, art and people walking the Art Districts in all areas...
mingling, learning and enjoying the areas.

On top of all that activity you can help your self to so many Microbrews and Brewery tap houses it could keep ya busy for a month straight.
Something for everyone.
I thought about all of this on the way in this morning. We are pretty lucky. Soon it will be Spring, the cherry blossoms will be in bloom, fruit trees everywhere and 85 degree days and 55 degree nights. Buskers on the walking malls and outdoor movies for the families. I know I sound like a tourist board employee, but if you haven't visited...you should. The best way to do it is to know someone, who can show you the hidden places...not all the touristy stuff (although you gotta see that too). It's the place to be :)

OR you can just lodge it...dress, drink and sit in the lodge enjoying the live music and people watch while your friends burn calories on the hill. (in the Spring we do this in our bikinis at ABasin)

because my butt is hungry

This weekend Olive and I set out for some fun at the museum. We went to see the show at the Planetarium but decided to spend more money and go to the nature museum too. It's always something to see the world through the eyes of a 4 year old. We looked at everything, pushed every button and spoke to every senior citizen enroute. To say the least, it took forever.

Eco Wrap anyone?

So this year I made a decision to not buy any more wrapping paper. I will use up what I have but instead of buying such a horribly wasteful item I put my little brain to work.
Here are a few things we came up with.
First and foremost : 100% recycled Kraftpaper.
I got it for $1.88 a roll for 50 ft at Walmart. (1.88!~!!!!!!)
I can recycle it with the paper with no guilt.
Olive has been coloring some....we did some stamps on some ...and we bowed them with left over yarn. Perfect
The second one we used: Olive's Coloring Book pages She had to willingly donate the pages then we taped them together and wrapped. She had some of those gigantic coloring pages, those were perfect.
Newspaper is good. although I don't get the paper, we got some from the neighbors.
Remember to save giftbags for reuse, and all the cards. We cut the cards for gift tags.
I found that you can actually save about 27$ dollars by not buying any new stuff....Yes I priced it out using Target wrapping paper prices ... 27$ is not much, but it bought 1 small Lego set (Bionicle) and 2 little puzzles, and a 10 starbucks gift card. See?

Friday Eye Candy... me likey
I think that Mr Downey has come a long way from the Less than Zero.Me Likey....He's my new man crush
BUT
last night I had an awesome dream about
Young Mr. Parrish from Weeds(the shirtless one)
I think this may be wrong considering he's probably just barely legal. I have now turned into a female cradle snatcher in my dreams. Although for some reason, in my dreams (they are my dreams after all) I'm younger too. It was the best romantic interlude I've had in a while!
It was that high school Love...mmmm
when I walked into the room (dream) he lit up for me and me alone.
Then I was rudely awaken by the screech of the family of raccoons that wonder through my backyard every night.
In my mind this morning I thought
a good raccoon is a dead raccoon....not very ladylike coming from a vegetarian, but you don't understand! Mr Hunter Parrish was waiting for me and I had to miss the happy ending because of raccoons!
Story of my life.
Maybe next time I can have a 3some with hunter and downey....and if there has to be a girl I'll take that Hooker girl on after WEEDS.
Who would be your 3 some?

Friday Night Fantasy
So, this is what I would like to wear tonight when I go see Hillbilly Hellcats and The Mighty 18 Wheeler...but the skirt didn't fit, the top was not that color, the shoes were too $$$ and the bracelet looked silly with nothing on. So, I'm just gonna drink those Martinis, because they look good on everyone. Plus when I tilt the glass back you can hardly see the huge Zit on my chin. Yeah it"s Friday!!!
