Day 200: Just Relax and do the Pony

The days are good lately.
Finding myself is quite hysterical most of the time...
with moments pondering, sprinkled with slight reprimands from friends,
and returns to Earth moments from the Universe....but I'm hanging in there.

Day 200
Relaxing at the lake...and yes I wear a bikini

I'm slightly irritated with myself for not having kept a list of the things I wanted to do and have actually done this summer.  This is really unlike me, because I am a list maker.  Makes me feel better about how quickly my days blend together when I realize I have possibly completed a few tasks.
This past week, Sissy came and hung out with me for a staycation. Our main goal was to hit the big Hooplagers Pool Party at Wibby Brewing...
and that we did.
My poor poor liver.  I'm not sure what the deal is with those beer festival pours, but they get me messed up.
Last year, I went by myself and had a great time....This year was even more fun.
I have to say the absolute best part was the silent disco.
I love to dance, so when sissy said, "Let's go" I squealed like a piglet.
We possibly were the oldest in there, but who cares.  We are products of the 80's, knew all the dance moves and all the words and were given a "watch out'"area when Sissy started to "ride the pony"
Not familiar?
Here...

We were dying laughing, sweating, singing, spilling beer....
Note to all:

80's silent disco cannot be missed, even if you think...
"no...I don't dance, it will be embarrassing, people will stare, etc."
   Ya know what ?
Do the fucking pony and have some fun...
After the festivities, we rode ( on bikes so as not to drive) our slightly drunk, bikinied, old lady selves home and complimented each other on our dance moves and made sure to tell all our friends who said," I'm not going to a stupid pool party at the brewery with blow up pools, beer and pink flamingo floats...that's stupid"

they missed out.

In short, the weekend staycation was great.
Only a few times did I lament on the fact I am still in a weird place....but it was easily brushed to the side with a reminder of how awesome life is.
How awesome I am...
How precious life is...
How just doing and being happy is ok....
How doing what is good for your self does NOT have to come with repercussions.
Really, you answer to no one....
except yourself.
So, as I said to me...
screw it...
do the pony, wear the bikini, laugh at yourself
and be ready when someone says...let's go.

As we get older it is harder and harder to find friends who are not stuck in the circle of what they should be doing according to friends, family, silly ideas...
Rarely do you come across the friend anymore who calls or texts and says,
"I'm coming to get you...we are going funnin' "
Don't miss out, because as I am quickly learning, tomorrow is not a guarantee....not even close.
I refuse to go down wishing I had kissed more, danced more, ate more macarones, or traveled solo...
yup

365 days: Don't Margarita and Text

Taco Tuesday was....well Tuesday.
I went to Jefes and had tacos.....and apparently 3 champagne margaritas.
yup...3, with sugared rim.  I'm going to tell you they were divine.
I am also going to tell you that anyone who knows me, knows I am not supposed to drink margaritas or tequila....
unless on vacation, in another state...or preferably, country.
I do bad things on tequila.
I used to fight....
really fight.
I'd be fun on minute and before you know it I was on someone's back pulling their hair out.
( I believe this stems from having too many brothers and from being a redhead / bartender at the time)

So....tequila was always my drink of choice after bartending in Atlanta....It made my little 5' self indestructable.
(fight club)
This is how I imagined myself, but the badass female version...
My friends, who were mostly guys would laugh and yell,
"watch out....the little vixen has been drinking the Tequila and unless ya wanna fight....be nice".

(romper stomper)
Pretty sure this is how I looked ....
with all my friends standing behind me

Pipsqueak...that's what I was
(ps if you haven't seen those 2 movies...you should)

Anyways , today....I thought it was Wednesday, ALL DAY....
Because apparently 3 margaritas made me lose an entire day.
Just so you know....I did work the day after and today, so in all logical terms I should have just done the math....but I guess I was so tired (aka as hung over) I lost the day.

As I finished my shift in the Operating Room I said,
"I'm so tired I can't believe it is only Wednesday "
Gio...anesthesia Dr. looked at me and said, "What , you guys aren't off tomorrow?" ( not really listening to me)
I said, "why the heck would we be off on Thursday....it's our busiest day"
"yeah...today was Hella busy...tomorrow is Friday, little lady"
What?What!
I was so happy I thought I was gonna have to kiss him on the lips...but
1. realized it would not be appropriate or sterile
2. I barely know him
3. he already thinks I'm nuts...so no no kissing for joy...we will save that for next month

My night of 3 margaritas went something as follows.
Tacos....mmmmm
ok, did you just say Champagne Margaritas are a special drink today?
I'm in...I'll have just one.
(this got a sideways slightly angry look from B)
Just one...sheesh
slurrrrrp.
B, to bathroom....
"psssst, hey...yes please...i'll have another"
then I took a few pictures of how delightful it was ...
then decided it would be proper time to bring up all the reasons I might need a divorce, in my head....
then ordered one more just for shit's sake....
then went to the bathroom because, well you know....but also because Jefe's has the best music in the bathroom...which that night as I peed was "de La Soul"
and as I sat there....enjoying the tunes....I texted someone who I should not have texted whilst drinking tequila ...or ever, knowing quite clear in my head he does not want to hear from me...but with the 3rd tequila running through my veins...
I thought, "he's my friend...it's De La Soul in the bathroom!!!!....it's awesome and he would appreciate"....
text sent....
realize text is sent....
think about crying, because, you know ...tequila...and lost love....and I was happy 2 minutes ago, now I'm sad a bit, and thinking about stuff....but mostly I'm just mad I sent the fucking text....
"For Fucks sake....stupid Margaritas!"
the girl in the next stall says
"yeah...stupid taco Tuesday!"
and I say..."but De La Soul is awesome"
then I wipe, wash and mope out to the bar.
Ok, B...let's go...
On the way home...Tequila had me open the gates of discussion
"hey, how do YOU feel about this roommate thing we have going on?"
Blank stare...B:"why are you even starting this right now?'
I don't fucking know...."tequila?maybe?"

shhhhhh M......shhhhhhhhhhh
make it home with mouth shut
no Fight Club tonight.
Got home and decided to walk the dog so that I didn't get all Romper Stomper.
so I walked and got a few texts from friends who always seem to text at perfect times.
I drunkenly sent texts of the golf course...
where I got a funny text back that said..."I would love to play golf poorly there with you, my friend...and I'll let ya drink tequila and fight."
and another from a girlfriend that said , "well...did ya send nekkid pics out?"
I said ...."hmmm well not yet but it is only 9:15"...
ok you got my number. :))

so...Tequila....or champagne margaritas....you got me good.
I lost a day.
I sent a text to an old lover...
and I sent some texts to some just plain loves....
I won some and lost one...well 2...because I lost a day also.

but ...
guess what , tomorrow is Friday. and it only gets better and maybe without the help of damn tequila...
it will be all right.

the getaway, the racist neighbor and the inability to relax

3/14/19
'moonshine'

oh....the racist neighbor....
he appeared from next door, moonshine in hand ....
"ya'll got Lawn Jockeys where you come from?"

uhmmmm
I'm sure somewhere but not like around here.

"Yeah I bet they paint them white where you live"
(just pour it big boy)

I shook my head and waited for him to get to pouring the moonshine from the jar.
I don't miss much from the South, short of the Gulf Coast water, boiled peanuts and the moonshine.
Nothing like a nice warm jar of liquid fire to help make you think about what's wrong in the world.
The key to drinking moonshine with people you don't know well, is to laugh, pay attention, listen and try, just try, to keep your mouth shut.
Moonshine drinking is not the time to voice any political opinions, ways of life, or who you may think is the greatest Nascar driver to date.
Just don't
"down the gullet and opinions closed"
I made it through the night, without a single vegetarian , race, presidential, or NASCAR comment leaking from my moonshine covered lips.
it was a good night....
others did not fare so well.

The subject of Palestinians and Jews popped out during the last 2 inches of jarred fire and at that point I excused myself to practice moonwalking around the kitchen with Sissy and a quick twerking lesson from another person.

I travel to Nashville a few times a year to relax and see Sissy. This time it was to just get away, escape, and think.

Sissy....post moonwalking

Surprisingly enough I did not have a hangover the following day and was able to meander around Spring Hill a bit and try to relax...get my liver in order for St. Patrick's Day.

Wandering around Spring Hill included the Tractor Store, the town hot spot, where I was able to treat myself to a $9 'Heifer Please' t-shirt, evaluate the baby chicks, and look at all the bedazzled cowboy jeans....
It's the little things.

When I'm in Nashville, I am just me...I often don't wear makeup or fix my hair. I lounge about watching the bird feeder, admiring the Spring blooms and never really eat a full meal.

me....

popcorn tree aka cherry blossom
It's perfect. We go out and I go out as is and make conversation with anyone who approaches.
Golf with a grey haired man at the bar, cool eyeglasses with a beautiful 20 something who "loved my look" and a lot of "let me check out your shirt 'lil mama' "from good looking young men enjoying the Irish beer and what nots.
escape for me....talk, smile, laugh, mingle...

Escaping or running away from problems often seems like a great idea...until you have to come back, then it is much worse.
Almost as if things compile at a different level.
Like the spirits that be are trying to teach you another lesson on top of the shitty lesson you are all ready trying to figure out.
I talked a lot of stuff out and the main thing I was able to establish was that I need to keep talking to someone. I told Sissy, "but they (therapists) don't, and won't give me answers..."
She replied, " but it is going to help you figure it all out at some point."

We talked about going from relationship to relationship and being alone for a while.
I want to be alone, but I also want to be near my friends.
"have you ever been alone?"
yes, but within that alone I have always had my people close to me.  I have always been very solo, especially when single. (hell, I'm so solo now it's ridiculous...) Going out , outside my circle...meeting people none of my friends knew...but yet I have always had my friends to come home to.  Those friends who are always there...the people who just come and sit on the couch and hang. Slumber party friends, cuddle up friends, 'we got this' friends....
So....
 alone?
 maybe not....
I am an extrovert who lives inside her brain....alone.
Overthinking and very awkward,
yet seem to draw people to me within this weird personality default.

overthinking and awkward....

but so full of love.

365 days...cooking in more ways than 1

I used to really like cooking, I know I have said this before...
at some point it became a chore.
It probably was when I really began working later shifts and felt as if I had no support...
and teenagers, teenagers will suck the joy out of everything.
I cook almost every night.
I think it is important to sit at the table together and be present.
This is not always the most highly voted way to eat dinner in my casa, as I know O would like to take her plate to the bedroom and B ....well, I'm not sure he cares either way...as long as it is ready sometime between 6 and 7 ( just as his father used to like)

Me?   Me you ask....?
I like to sit at the table, enjoy my food, watch a bit of tele and chit chat....add a beer after a long day.
It's nice when all goes well.

Last night I threw together Shrimp Tacos and veggie crumble tacos.
I grew up eating shrimp but recently I think I have become allergic, so I try not to eat too many....but I love them so.

Tomatoes, onion, cilantro and a little lime

rinsed the shrimp and tossed in some thrown together taco seasoning and olive oil....let sit for about 30 minutes, then sauté in oil....let them brown for a minute or 2

then flip!!  mmmmm

O, likes hard taco shells so she got her choice tonight ....I added yummy Mexican hard cheese and of course Marie Sharps hot sauce

and a beer
O and I had veggie crumbles with taco seasoning (make your own seasoning, don't buy it) with steamed Sweet Potatoes...covers the protein allotment for the day

2/28/19
Yum....I like chopped lettuce
super simple ...all in all it took longer to clean the pots and pans than cook the dinner

I have been feeling pretty ok.  Started training for the half marathon.  Not sure if I will make it to the Bryce...but I'm going to keep training. Yesterday it was so cold.... I had to head to the gym to run on the treadmill, my nemesis.  As I ran, I watched the mating rituals of the young testosteroned up males.I cannot figure it out.  It's often hard to tell if they are trying to impress the woman or the men....or maybe both in a way.  As much as I love a nice well taken care of hard body, I am not sure I could put up with that type of bravado.  I watched one young chap strut around, bopping from machine to machine with his scantily clad, full makeup, girl trotting behind him carrying his water bottle and his towel.  He was constantly 10 feet in front of her.  weird.

Cleaned out another room and filled the trash can with shit from my life yesterday which felt pretty good once I slammed the lid of the garbage can and kept myself from looking back in it.
Note to self: Don't look at what you throw away...got no time for picking shit OUT of garbage can due to remorse

Weekend is almost here.
Old guy friend, S, is here this weekend. He always spends the first half of his stay with family which is great then he starts texting.  Last night I had to yell... "No,I cannot come get in your Hot Tub...I really have to be up at 4 am....stop sending me those pictures!!!"
finally,  I got the last text around 11pm :)
big dummy

I'm not getting in that hot tub....nope, no matter how enticing it looks
but I know he is going to try to convince me

The weekends have been good, probably because I have been feeling pretty good
I think this weekend will be just as good.
I have to address some more situations,
I have a job interview
I have a couple of training runs to complete,
and maybe I will get up to Denver again....
ya know what I would like?

To go dancing....

Just keep moving forward
find your tribe, or rediscover your tribe

Pheromones ? ADD ? and Hot Tubs

2/14/19

MCA Denver Winter Opening (outside)

As I walked around the MCA I felt quite nice. It did not hurt that the UBER driver announced he wished he could walk us right up to the door because we looked gorgeous .
My vintage dress was staying put, not ripping or falling off and my heels were comfy( nothing makes for a worse night than uncomfortable shoes, no matter how great they look), and my huge 1940s wool and fur white cloak was show stopping (even missing a button).

We walked in and the first thing I noticed, was that a few men ,stepped to the side and did the arm wave and guided us into the building, smiling and with a little look.
I thought, "odd". but it was nice. A beautiful 20 something girl stepped out of the elevator and came right up to me and said, "You look beautiful...your hair is amazing and that dress., saw you from up there !..that dress is perfect" ....
Hmmm feeling quite good...but I really just want to have a glass of beer , because you know...that's what fancy people do, and see the art.
We found our way from the photo booth to the bar then onward to the main gallery.
All I could think was

1. I love this art and all of this
2. This is where every cool person should be with their Valentine.
3. YEAH  this is pretty fun

We looped around and the amount of well dressed pretty people was impressive, but honestly, I was not paying a whole lot of attention. I was concentrating on not spilling my beer and getting a little closer to the paintings I wanted to really see.
As I was shimmying between people to get up front to the one  special piece, I felt a touch on my back.
I didn't jump, or turn around to punch, because I was holding my beer and as stated I was trying not to spill, plus it was actually more of a slide across my back, very gently.
gave me a bit of a chill
I glanced around and a very good looking man was back a little bit and he smiled and nodded.
I tried not to look confused and do the point and "me?" thing so I just smiled and nodded back and turned around.  I felt a little confused but then realized what someone had said to me recently.
Let people acknowledge you.

I wandered from piece to piece then found A, so that we could go get another cocktail ( and she wanted some pictures of herself by a few of the pieces of artwork because she was looking like a piece of art also)
Found the drink line and stood behind some adorable young ladies who were on date and so cute.  Gently touching each other and smiling, with a few giggles....so I leaned forward and said, "y'all look perfect tonight." and they smiled, giggled ....and we laughed about the drinks and the drink line. They really did look perfect and summed up what I would imagine was the perfect date night.
As I was waiting for A, I saw across the way the tall man, actually I kind of felt him before I saw him.
He was just watching me.
I couldn't figure out who he was with because he was with a group of beautiful women and men who were quite loud and moving from place to place without really looking at anything.
I turned to get my drink and pay, and when I turned back around he was behind me a few back in the line. He never spoke to me, he winked and gave a little smile again, raised his empty drink cup and gave a little shrug.
Interesting, I don't think he was blind, or drunk, so he actually was checking me out.
I did not stay to see what would happen because I wanted to get to the other sections and I knew A wanted to get up to the dance party.
It felt nice, and if I had been there by myself I probably would have pursued that a bit more, except I still wasn't sure if he was there with anyone, because it was Valentine's Day. But I'll tell you what, that little hand slide across the back was a ballsy, and pretty hot.

A and I had a great night , there were many compliments from young women to A and me on our looks. And to think A was worried she was overdressed....I said there is no such thing.
We danced and laughed, got A's pictures she wanted for Match (haha) and made it to the second Uber, where once again , the driver was quite charming.
( I would like to point out, A got one of their phone numbers and is going out Sunday)
Would I have like to have been there with a lover or someone who enjoyed my company?(  besides A, I love going out with her...but you know what I mean)
Of course...it would have been awesome...But art gallery openings aren't for everyone, and getting dressed up is not for everyone, but I think , yes it would have been quite sexy and amazing.
My night and interactions with people were perfect.
I was there to drink the beer and see the art...and be dressed up,
check check and check

I did look nice.

Is this what they would consider Pheromones working?
It might be .
Or is it just not caring? Letting go and being open.

It's interesting how my attitude is a bit different the past few weeks. You know, since my attitude adjustment.  I'm present but semi calm and open.
Things have felt a bit different and it is a bit weird.

Besides the Gala,
I went out with my neighbor to the local pub ;we had the same thing happen.
My friend is actually more of a chatter than I am and we were drinking Vodka Tonics at the bar, yapping about life and vacations, and I kept announcing to her " I have to be up at 4am...no more, plus you have to work too"
We weren't paying attention to much around us because we go there all the time and were much too busy gossiping and laughing. I looked like shit, but because it was my local I didn't care....It's Longmont, I had actually just thrown clothes on over my PJs. and put a hat on.
after D, had ordered about her 75th V/T  I said "That's it Young Lady I'm Paying and driving your drunk ass home!" As she was professing her love for me I glanced around and the 2 men sitting next to us were laughing.
The man directly to my right, called the bartender over... and held up his card and said, " I'm buying theirs and get them one more round, except she might want water ( he whispered ) pointing to me"
I laughed and said "No way mister, you can't pay for this, she just drank the Caspian Sea in Titos Vodka and ate dinner...too much, we got it...we are good, but thank you"
He looked at the bartender shook his head and handed over his fancy metal credit card and waved his hand for that extra round.
"Really, thank you"
He laughed and kept watching the game on the TV.
I announced to D, he paid for our bill and she said, " really? That's great !woop woop", then started to try to have a conversation with him
It was comical.
We talked about vacations and travel, and D was telling him about her trip she was heading out on to Mexico.
He was a bit older, maybe early to mid 50s and funny.
He said he traveled a lot, had a private plane and a handler.
"A HANDLER? WTF?" I was laughing so hard.
He nonchalantly said he had to travel for work all the time and because of his ADD he just can't get to where he needs to be correctly. He has often ended up in the airport bathroom panicking.

I could tell he was listening to D talk, but he was looking at me with everything he said.
I asked him what he does when he gets to where he is going.?
He said the handler is there and arranges the limos, food etc so he just shows up to where he needs to be and tries not to panic.
wow.
He asked about my travel.
We talked and as D was talking over us...
he leaned over and said ," can I give you my phone number,  or card? "
I smiled and said I am currently with someone, and I am so flattered...
Jokingly I said, "Besides, I like to travel and you are not a good traveler"
He said "well you might not always be with someone and I would like you to take my number...or if you want to take a ride on a private plane, I live around the corner....also, I am a good traveler, if I have a handler"
he handed me his card
I looked at it for a second, smiled and put it in my pocket....I patted him on the knee and said thank you again for the dinner  and drinks..."I have to get her home....she is demanding Hot Tub."
I looked at the card the next day and smiled.
President of some international shipping company and consultant....
(with severe ADD which was not on the card but should have been)

I'm just going about my days, doing what I need to do to be a better me without someone stifling me and in return maybe I might be throwing off some pheromones.
maybe...
now is not the time
hahaha
I have too much on my plate.
but I'm open to whatever comes my way as I work out this situation

write ya later,
watch out for Pheromones

Sober October day 9

As you know, I like my cocktails, well beer especially, but October has rolled around and I was reminded by my far far away friends that I have been known to participate in things such as Sober October and Lent (yes , I said Lent).

Thanks, God....

It is day 9 and I have to admit one thing...I sleep better. With that said let me tell you a few of the things which are not working out:

1. I went out the other night and I had to become the UBER drive, because I wasn't drinking.  At one point I was toting drunkards around and I decided to make an illegal turn. Someone in the backseat said, "hey, you can't do that"....my response, "Fuck it...Pull my ass over....they can give me a ticket. I am so sober it's frightening."  Then from the backseat, "yeah....it is frightening,
This will probably never happen again."
Nice support guys.

( this is what my backseat looked like)

2. I was told I am no fun when sober....    another thanks for the support...

3. I feel like I have nothing to do.  I never realized how much I enjoy having a beer and or a vodka drink at night while relaxing.  Now, as a fellow SoberOctober friend announced, "I have drunk more tea than Kermit the Frog". bingo, brother, bingo....and that lousy bubble water with flavors that taste like plastic fruit.

besides all of that I have discovered a few things that now that I am done with the depression of not having a beer, I am going to cash in on....and I think I will continue for the rest of the month to blog on it.  I have been feeling pretty good about blogging and if you do read this feel free and let me know because as of now I feel pretty open knowing no-one really gives a shit or reads this crap.
So, point at hand,

1. I have found time to read.

2. I am knitting and sewing again which you can see on my IG

3. I have plenty of time to think and try to make my apologies to all the people I have been weird to. Although when one attempts to reconnect on a nonweird platform it just appears the one is fucking crazy, so I just do my best and hope I can re-establish the love I once had for people and them me.

4. Run
This is the big one.  I have made a commitment to myself, starting today (in 38 degrees) to try to run again.  I am shooting for a half marathon in Bryce Canyon.  Running is something I do alone.  I have yet to find anyone who I can or want to run with, comfortably ( if you are out there contact me). So, this I will continue to talk about.

5. Russel Brand requested I start to meditate every day to clear my head and become my old self.
I am on top of this, I would rather be on top of him...but we will start with meditation.
Thanks Russ...

6. Depressed M is going bye bye.  My life is mine.  There is a path here somewhere and I am going to find that bitch.

The Smell of Teen Spirit

Today, I took the boys to this strange foreign phenomenon called an "internet cafe".  Sounds interesting right?  Internet/Cafe....can't go too wrong.  Oh how wrong I was.  This place is called CDX2 (or something like that).
Walked in,eyes adjust to the pitch black walls...hmmm, nothing like expected.  I guess in my lil feeble arty mind I thought of, let's see, Paris, France...people sitting around reading Poetry or Lesbian Literature, sipping small cups of Americanos and stepping outside to smoke clove cigarettes.
bwahahahahaha
HAHAHAHAHAA
Uh yea,NO, not even close brotha...
When I walked in and my eyes finally adjusted to the non lighting and my nose to the smell of teen BO,
this is what I saw:

not exactly Paris...
The boys started to get excited, they could smell the "teen spirit" coming from down the dark corridor.  The sounds of Pre Pubey cuss words, like "Damn it Dude!" and "Hellsa Yeah" were streaming from a dark area blocked off to normal eyes.
I told Master Nerd at the counter my ears were burning.  He just looked unamused into my eyes and said,
"they are teenagers, what's your log in name?"

no,no, no...not for me.
The boys stepped up, or more like sprung to attention, actually the most movement I've see all day.
They got all signed in, picked silly boy "gamer names" and for a mere 12$, 3 full hours of teen ecstasy was purchased.
We then walked around the corner to get them set up with their "internet gaming device"....
(and to make sure the weird( over the age of 50) gamer dudes weren't sitting too close to my (young virgin) gaming dudes.
Here's basically what the room looked like, except with flat screen TV's:

AND with more zits and pop cans.

The boys settled in, logged in, and just so that they remembered what an awesome mom I am I announced to all the Nerds,
"Well, I just CAN'T imagine why there aren't any chicks here, I mean, If I was a teen age girl, man...this would be an ideal hang out...I mean, really, look at all the eligible, zit faced, over achievers wasting a perfect summer day inside sitting side by side, shooting people..."

I remember when I was young the boys had an old mattress out in the field/woods where they would enjoy the summer air and read their porno stash and dream about getting laid.
Not now, times have obviously changed.

needless to say, My boys had a blast. I think I even heard a Thank You when they got back into the van.

Beer, it's yummy

I need a job where I can just drink beer while I work :). I think it would help me be more productive...well, that might be debatable, but I KNOW it would make me want to go to work more often.
Picture it: Walking up the steps to your desk job with beer in hand.
" Hi Sam, Hi George"
clock in...
carrying your cooler with 2 more icey cold ones inside.
MMMMM

I don't even drink that much...but I like to have a beer once in a while.
At work...my office tries to make it conducive to working. We have the Potlucks and the occasional FAC...but I think a beer or cocktail at the desk would totally trump those. Actually in my mind I know it would trump those.

I just finished med surg class and had an Exam... I missed 6, i think she's dumping one of the questions, and I got 3 extra credits right...should put me at about an 88%. Good enough for me...
Now if she would have let me had a beer while taking my exam, I could have relaxed and I betcha I would have made a 95%.
I'm just saying.

last day of school for the semester and I have a crankin hangover. I took it upon myself to drink a bottle of cheap champagne. Well, Liz was going to help, but there is something wrong with that girl. She's a sipper, which in turn calculates me up a notch as a drunk, because I was able to miraculously polish off 10 glasses to her one. I need to school that girl on alcohol. It does no one any good when it sits in the bottle. especially alcohol with bubbles.
We went for sushi and I discovered Lava Rolls..."el Yummo"
Oh yeah, and managed to "share" a carafe of saki with Liz...(I drank it all), so needless to say I am crankin my last final out with an awesome hangover.
Then I am going to knit...because I have time now, and I can

xoxox
write ya later
m

ps. I'm working on setting up my camera so that I can take my self portraits, except the more I thought about it the more I'm not sure if I can actually say something positive 365 days of the year.

One more down...hey wait...

That's it!!!...no more kids!!! Hot damn diggity.

As I stated as I hop skipped and jumped to my bike, after dumping the youngest precious angel at her first day of Kindergarten,

"If I was a stay at home Mom... I'd be drinkin from a flask right now!!! Woop WOOP!!!"

Some young dad looked at me with wonder in his eye and said, "Lucky...I have two more at home."

haha naanny nanny doodoo...

No really, I take great joy in seeing the kids onto another milestone for them, and me. I know, I know, they grow up sooooooo fast. Yes, but that is ok, because if they are anything like the rest of my family, they never actually grow up and move out, so what ever I can do to help the process...including all day kindergarten...I'm for it!!!
I nicely packed an extra pair of pantaloons and shorts into her pocket in her backpack and whispered in her ear....Just in Case...that way you won't have to wear the "loaner clothes".
It probably won't happen...but just in case. (see, I'm a good mom)

I'm at work right now, thinking about going to the Toad Bar next door and having a celebratory shot just because.

Kindergarten...
5 years old...
She is so grown up and all I have to show for it is
more gray hairs, saggy boobs, and the thoughts that one day I will be able to vacation without kids.

Night at the Group...

There is a bar down the street called "Group Therapy". This is in ingenious name considering the derelicts which hang out there. It's the type of place where you are worried about your car, where you parked and how far it is from the parking space to the actual door. Once inside, just as scary.

We went to see a friend's band , "Burn", which plays absolutely NO original music. All 80's except for the few Nickelback crap songs they throw in. It's like Karaoke, but louder. It's almost as if you are in the middle of, let's just say, Opp, Alabama in the only bar with all the locals jamming in their big white sneakers playing air-guitar to Van Halen, beer dancing, and karate kicking... and it all seems OK....until you step back out into reality and realized you were in some sort of David Lynch movie.

After belting out Jessie's Girl and a few Toto hits I told Synda she had to come to the bathroom with me. I sure as hell wasn't going alone. As we rounded the corner to the bathroom we could all ready smell it.

Synda says, "Oh my God...I'm not going in there."

I on the other hand am a bit more adventurous and also work in a hospital so the smell was bearable, plus I had to pee, bad.

I walked in, walked out, "Give me my camera!"

Here's what I saw:

yes that is blood...lovely...but besides the stench, for some reason the toilet was clean.
very juxtapose, don't you think?

I got the hell outta there...but I did pee, balancing carefully.
When we got back to the table, Joe was making nice with the locals.

If these people are any of YOUR people, I guess I should apologize, but I won't because it was quite comical.
Although Joe did not have his Hooker Money available, he got a free picture to remember the event.
I believe she is trying to convince Joe for a 20$ you know what. That is why he is laughing.

This guy lost his pants and his teeth.
I'm not sure why we felt we needed to be discreet while photographing him. He was hammered.

We finished up our crappy beer and left via the cloud of cigarette smoke outside the front door, and watched the remainder of said family above dragging each other to the motel across the street. I bet they will have a nice time.

Another fabulous night at the Group Therapy.
If ever in Longmont CO. you must visit the Group.
