Look what Mother Nature brought me...She is so kind...I love her...I love her because she knows how much I love pink.

Ilin and I have been cooking...working on learning how to be a MAN. You know, so when he hits 15 and half and runs as far away as he can from this whack house he will know how to cook for himself and his goth girlfriend any type of crazy vegetarian food they might need to survive.

and still be politically correct.

(not Ilin, but may be one day)

So, the excellent Mom I am, I went to Target to do a little R&R and left him with a recipe for my personal favorite....Hummus.

"mom, what are Chicken Peas?"

Lord...You mean Chick Peas...

"yeah"

They are in the cupboard...aka Garbonzos

Off I went.

When I got home He announced he used the dried parsley, 4-5 drops of lemon juice from the plastic lemon, and 2 cloves of garlic.

I have to say,it was garlicky but YUMMY!

"hey Bubba, I have an idea. You cook dinner"

(smart, huh?)

I helped him with what he needed but he pretty much did the entire thing.

Pasta Primavera, fresh veggies and all. Everything had been cut and prepared by Bubba himself. He ran out of the pasta he wanted so the genius that we know he is combined 4 different types of pasta. Olive sat the table, Bobby groaned because he had to cook his own dinner

(no veggies for him, unless they are root kind!)

We all got our drinks. Everyone but Bubba sat down, because he was serving.

Turned around with the big bowl of pasta...

SPLAAATTTTT

all over the dog and the floor.

What did I do you ask?

Did I yell?

No..

I grimaced, smiled and scraped it back into the dish and said

"So, it will have a little dog hair in it, extra flavor"

No tears or anything.

We all quietly sat down and even his little evil sister said, "Bubba, you are a good cooker, even with the dog hair".

He's gonna make someone a good wife...I mean husband.

Oh Yeah I Passed!!!

Forgot to tell Ya'll... passed that stupid ol' math test. Got an 82 even though I didn't finish. It took a slight load off my back to know it's almost over. I still have to pass the boards but I'm really not thinking about that right this second. Taking the boards for my RN license means I have a new career to start and it's a little daunting.

I made a promise to myself that I would take some time for myself this summer. Not jump right into anything. I want to garden...and MY YARD NEEDS IT.

I want to lay by the city pool and listen to the kids yell...and I want to take a road trip.

Crazy Hat Day

Kindergarteners at Longmont Estates have and End of Year Program..."Crazy Hat Day"...

It gave Olive and I an opportunity to brain storm about Spring and do a bit of crafty stuff.

We needed it because we have all just been total Bitches in my house lately. Screaming and carrying on like ding dongs.

So, we headed out to the ARC to find a vintage hat that looked Springy...

There was one perfect hat amongst the old cowboy hats...the perfect Spring base to our crafty hat.

We then headed to Hobby Lobby to find the little birds.

Here, Olive announced to everyone and anyone who would listen that,

"Everything is made in China!!! Why can't we make things in the U.S. of A!!!?"

good point kid.

Found what we needed...headed back home for an easy project with her singing some crazy song about smashing bumble bees.

We arranged the hat over brilliant conversation. Topics like : we love Nature...

Why do little birds only lay three eggs? And Chinese people must have tiny hands.

Then we were done.

and she went to show her ever lackluster father.

"look---!!!! Mommy and I LOOOVE nature...But Daddy you hate it.

You run over squirrels."

and I smiled, because he was caught, once again...

so, I go to take the second math test. I get to the testing center at 1145...thinking its open until 3. Sit down, start taking the test...feel pretty good...do the ones I know...move along...do the ones I need to work on...move along...start working on a few of the harder ones, because I have time...then the girl comes in and says,"I'm sorry, we are going to have to close in a few minutes...wrap it up"

WTF?!!!!!

ok...whatever...I did the best I could...in 45 minutes!!! they were to give me 3 hours, they should have said something...oh well, it's my fault I should have looked at the hours when I walked in.

I sent an email to the 2 instructors and said " You will be able to tell I am fully capable of doing basic math...even though I did not finish the test..."

then I got in the car and cried.

But I'll assure you it isn't just to you. My family is feeling it too. They hate me. The dog hates me, everyone hates me. I have been going non stop since the first of the month. I want all you future nurses to know it doesn't HAVE to be like this, it just is for me right now. SO don't be discouraged. really.

Here's a funny thing. I stopped worrying about money, yet I continue to go to work. Wouldn't it make more sense to stop working for a month and not worry about anything? YES...but there is no one to replace me. Why do I worry about that? Well, I don't...but my work ethic sucks in that sense. I don't want to bobble the bobble, if you know what I mean.

Today I will help Olive ride her bike a half mile to school at the lightening speed of -.08 miles per hour (yes she sometimes goes backwards)...then I'm off to school for 9 hours to do some sort of DRT testing for the school.

I have boycotted graduation since I may not be graduating. So I will not be partaking in school pictures. That will teach them. HA! Better get going.

I then proceded to tell her I needed to collect from blood :)

holy cow lady, that is no way to talk to a student.
So I got all my stuff together ...jammed that butterfly into her vein and got the blood.

she said...
and my day is only half over.

Off to my 3rd capstone/clinical day to complete my requirements to be an RN. As you can tell I'm overjoyed. I'm not sure if you could tell from my last few posts I may not graduate because they are not accepting my math clept. Things have changed since I started the program, should have just taken the math. I can contest it, but it will take until about june/july for it to be looked at.

I've asked a friend to help me study this weekend for the second part of the test...then I will just go ahead and take it. No foul, no harm...or whatever that saying is.

Bigger issue today. I have to leave the kids to fend for their selves for the 2nd day in a row. Ilin has to get Olive to school on time, which includes feeding, brushing and general 5 year old maintenance. Plus the crazy ass dog is gonna be stuck at home for 8 hours by himself. I might as well say good bye to the couch right now huh?

I just got home from work, I'm studying for NCLEX, which is a mute point if I don't past a math clept test. It appears they are using me to make an example of at school.

it's ok, I'll roll with it.

My true issue right now is

my soul is lonely and unchallenged. Math is just not going to do it.

Does that make any sense to anyone but me?

The roteness of my days and the predictability of my life is tapping at my soul's door telling me to look around. Stop waiting for the end result,
