365 days: Day 185 Punta Cana ...relaxed and washed out

DAY 185

Higuey, DR

Something about the colors makes me happy
she smiled for a minute...ziplineing

Yes,  I booked a trip to Punta Cana DR when people are dying there. So what?  I like an adventure and a good deal.
Stayed at Barcelo Palace on Bavaro Beach and for all inclusive resort it was fine.
No one died, and I feel semi relaxed.
beaches were white and warm,
People were friendly
I relaxed....
what more can I say........
except.....
I'm a dumbass for thinking it would be different.

Will I ever learn?
It really is time to move on...
really
(Look at that dumbasses sweet face)
vacationing with me is an adventure...
If you want it to be.
I enjoy trying stuff...
I tried almost every bite of food put in front of me...yes even meat, because when you don't speak the language it is important to not be rude....although a few locals helped with which meals traditionally did not have meat.
I like to do things....but I also like other people to take the lead, so if you are not strong enough to take the lead and decide what you would like to do, you will either be doing what I want to do, or nothing at all.
If you decide things at the last minute while in a 3rd world country...it most likely won't happen because things need a bit of planning.
Something I discovered which was quite nice and new to me...
separate beds.  I slept like a baby.  Not my ideal sleeping arrangement when traveling with a person I am in love with, but....
situation was just dandy with the double beds.
If you aren't having relations, kissing, touching....no need to be in my space.
I realized I find dark skinned DR men with light eyes, extremely attractive.
I was thankful I did not have the opportunity to really explore as much as I wanted to. ( wink wink)
If you sleep through half the vacation...
you are going to miss out, not my problem....
I can sleep at home...
I like to dance...and gamble occasionally
these things should happen while on vacation.

I cannot wait to meet someone who likes to take a bit of the lead...
I'm not saying all the lead, just someone who steps up, can make a reservation, can get a taxi in a different country, will carry the money and tip, and can try new things.
can't wait.

I posted a pic of me in my bikini, because I do wear a bikini and don't really care if I have a fat belly one day...
mostly I care because I don't find myself attractive looks wise.  My body is ok, but lately I feel washed out, old and pretty ugly.
(honestly though, I am all those things hahaha)
but it doesn't make me happy looking at pictures.

I am back home, getting mentally prepared for work and what comes next.
life is grand

write ya later

To all that may be involved.

Hi there…(written to all the directors at my place of employment)
I work in the Med Pavillion as a financial counselor, suite 190.
What is going on with the paint color? I don’t usually think twice about things like this, but man, this morning when I came in…it was like Las Vegas.
I guess we will get used to it, but I’m sure, if you take a stroll down this hall you will have the same thought.
Kind of like Big Bird Gone Bad.
Thanks for listening

Denver? #1?

So, my little neck of the woods was voted the #1 wanted place to live...meaning when they surveyed people, they said if they were to move they would pick ...here.
I'm sure you have all seen Dumb and Dumber
This is my drive on my way into work. This picture doesn't sum it up...but when the sun hits those flatirons they glow, when the snow is on them, they look like sugar dusted cookies, and the sky above is always this amazing blue...except at sunset when it is a crazy pink-orange.
To my left, as I drive , there is open space where this time of year they have grass fed cows just enjoying the fields...not feed lots. Open space and cattle. Very nice to see as I drive in.

We keep it a bit of a secret around here. It's nice and as much as we sometime complain about how cold it is....it's really not bad. Last week we hiked in 70 degree weather, without having to drive 40 miles , and then it snowed the next day. Here are just a few things that we have which makes us pretty cool.

Rockclimbing at the Flatirons...or anywhere in Boulder for that matter

We have Champagne Powder
and not 100 miles away...You can go to Eldora (less than 35 minutes) and still get a pass for the day for about 40$. Or you can head to Vail, Breck, Loveland,Aspen, Copper,A-Basin, Winterpark, Mary Jane...see what I mean?
If you don't snowboard or ski...you can TUBE...it's so much fun...picture the big black tube, dragged up the mountain and drunkards flying down at high rates of speed...fun for EVERYONE.
OR you can just lodge it...dress, drink and sit in the lodge enjoying the live music and people watch while your friends burn calories on the hill. (in the Spring we do this in our bikinis at ABasin)

You can practice your Kayaking skills

Denver skyline and the bike path....all the way from Cherry Creek to Downtown. A very popular summer activity.
We aren't just Granola out here. We have a killer nightlife.
Some of the best Dj's come through Denver. We have great local bars, clubs, dives and killer local live music.

Is Art your thing...we have the DAMM free every first Saturday of the month.
You can enjoy Art at it's finest in one of the coolest locations in the US.
We also have First Fridays...Cocktails, art and people walking the Art Districts in all areas...
mingling, learning and enjoying the areas.

On top of all that activity you can help your self to so many Microbrews and Brewery tap houses it could keep ya busy for a month straight.
Something for everyone.
I thought about all of this on the way in this morning. We are pretty lucky. Soon it will be Spring, the cherry blossoms will be in bloom, fruit trees everywhere and 85 degree days and 55 degree nights. Buskers on the walking malls and outdoor movies for the families. I know I sound like a tourist board employee, but if you haven't visited...you should. The best way to do it is to know someone, who can show you the hidden places...not all the touristy stuff (although you gotta see that too). It's the place to be :)
