Oh No You Did Not

I'm a nurse
I get it, y'all are irritated with us and everything that is going on in your bubble of a world....
Covid
Masks
Low staffed restaurants
Seriously...
we are doing our godamn bests...
so it makes no sense for people to be dicks to us or anyone in the medical field right now.
Zip...
Zero...
Nadda...
After 2.5 years you KNOW you need to don a mask...
and yes you can put your classy
"This mask does nothing"
mask on and I may shake my head...
but you know...
in your self centered head...
you need to put it on to get service...
here, at restaurants, hospitals, clinics, Target, Walmart
all of it...
and
If ya pull your mask down to sneeze or cough in my face,
Yes I am going to say something.
If you throw your ID and attitude at the young girl checking you in ....
You can be sure she is going to come back, tell me, and I'm gonna remember
yeah...I am

So, get your shit together and be nice to us.
You get to go home and take your mask off and cop an attitude at home and tell everyone what bitches us nurses are...
and we just keep smiling and reminding you to get a booster, wash your filthy hands, and wear a mask if you need to stand in line at the bottom of the Vail Chair Lift on a Saturday with 30k other people.

and yes this is Vail last weekend
so tell me none of these people
got Covid

Think about it

Simple Romance 101

Romance

I am a die hard romantic.
It is awful.
I don't require much
mostly just thought.
To know someone has thought about you is one of the most loving feelings I know of.

The special text.
The inside joke.
The little card
The note.
The secretly planned getaway
The "you aren't getting away that easy" show of want.

The Thought....
Something which meant they had to think outside of the box....for you.
Or more so, that they wanted to think outside the box to make you smile.
To me, effort will always trump money in the romance department.

Do not get me wrong, this girl loves thoughtful jewelry (as do most), suited to me..but it doesn't need to be pricey, just original and with some thought.
Anyone can buy a piece of jewelry,
but to know that someone likes a certain thing and hunt for it...
That romantic nugget is priceless.

So simple, yet so hard for many to think about another's wants and needs.
Romance....
Good luck if you participate on V-Day.
Remember, it's simple.
just think outside the box...

Write ya later,

The Office/Hen House

My work is so stupid...wait, let me rephrase that, the PEOPLE at my work are so stupid.
Today we have a departmental meeting which is mandatory to discuss workplace friendliness.

REALLY? please.
Don't talk friendly with me...I am the most down to Earth, tell it like it is, friendly person here.

It's literally like living in an episode of "The Office".
There is an area downstairs where they do pre-registration phone calls. I call it the Hen House.
New people who get hired for that position, never stay down there. There is no light, the women are either crazy or go crazy from working down there, and they appear to turn into weird rotting shells of people.

Today for the meeting we must enter that Hen House and try to figure out what happens to grown adults once they start working in that room. They can't get along, they bicker between them selves, and they basically stop doing anything to help anyone.

They have survived down there for a long time without any intervention, but last month we hired a new person who spent one week down there, came back up stairs and went straight to the supervisor and said, "What the hell is wrong with those people down there?"

I about fell out of my chair. Bwahahahahahahaha

I laughed and laughed and laughed.

The new person looked at me and stated, "They told me you were a Bitch...."

What ? ME!? whatever...you will soon see the light, or not, since you are stuck down with the smock wearing, comfortable shoe wearing, ergonomically seated, fat-rearended clucking group of 40-50 somethings that can't play well with others.

So, Friday when I was out, some poopie hit the fan, someone started crying (that person is 52 years old), the new person left a note on my desk that said , "you are NOT the Bitch...I figured out who is." and now there is a mandatory meeting.
Ha...
That same new person asked me as I passed her in the hall this morning, "Should I take the high road at the meeting, or say my mind?"
I smiled and said..."the High Road is an easier walk."

But I secretly hope she speaks her mind.
Bitch.
