man arms?

Oh lord…
Im not sure if this is what I had in mind when I started to work out and weight lift.  Maybe I thought I would be rockin Madonna arms…You know the kind, Lean and Strong?…
The kind they post on the front of tabloid magazines and the captions says "starving to death?"…
The kind where your significant other, whom you at one time were trying to impress then said  'fuck it , I'm doing it for myself and so other people will say' , "holy shit…what happened to your arms?"
arms
like this:
but not so drastic….

Too me it's is gross, but sexy strong…
and I'm at that age where I'm gross anyways.
Middle aged, married woman with kids, who no one looks at any more…Almost like you are invisible.  So what do I care?  I want to look in the mirror and say ,"holy macaroni…I'm going naked today…or if not naked I'm rockin the sleeveless mom smock."
I'm done with lunch lady arms.  finito…. finished….adios swayin in the wind, arms!
Back to topic.
So, I thought I could pull this off with my new "Live Fit" training program.
Ummm…it's working, but in a strange way,a way that apparently would only happen to me.
my arms are starting to look like this:

Not that these are bad arms
and they surely surpass the lunch lady arms…but come on…even these things are gonna be hard to rock in a sleeve less lil black dress for my reunion.
Why does this shit happen to me?
chin hair?
large features…
now Arnold Arms
It's a start…
I'll be baaack

PS…now if you hop on over to Lepetite Jen's Blog
you will see what I was hoping for…
slim and tiny…
She will be competing in March I believe.

I'm so proud of her.

bustin a move

and getting things done.
I think the key to fulfilling your goals is to just go ahead and try to accomplish them all within the first 2 months, then you can relax the next 10.
Makes perfect sense huh?

Today my list of achievements

2. workout with my frienemy "Jackie Warner"

Flip that leaf

Not even turn over a new leaf...i'm flippin' that baby!
Last night as I tossed and turned in bed I realized I'm not happy being stagnant....even when sleeping.  It's definitely one of my issues.  As I perused Facebook I noticed a friend of a friend talking about Skirtchasers 5K.  What the hell...I'll sign up.  I did.  Then I tossed and turned some more.  I told myself I will get up and start completing some tasks.  Start heading towards a goal...(I'm good with goals).
I got up at 630, did some laundry, got Olive ready for school, walked her to school, then headed straight to hot yoga.  shew...it was hot and exhausting and now I feel empty and it's only 1130...I am going to finish grocery shopping, prepare a menu for the week and last but not least...I'm going to reupholster my chair.  Yup, kind of out of order but that is this weeks goals.

Weekend...

If you had seen it before, this is a huge improvement.  It needs decor....but it's clean.
I can now mark that off my list.
Then Olive and I got pedicures  :)
Very nice, my first at almost 40...Olive's 1st at 4.
I walked over to go under the light that cooks the polish onto your nails and smudged mine and was too mortified to say anything.  Plus I figure the lady wouldn't understand what I was saying, BUT my friend Princess Titsy yelled "She has a SMUDGE!"  (just like it was cancer) and the little lady rushed over with her brushes and containers and fixed it...I was horribly embarrassed.
I also got my eyebrows waxed which was equally embarrassing.  The little lady said "Have your eyebrows always been this patchy?"
Hmmm let me think....why, yes m'am they have.
I now feel much better about them.
I can mark those 2 things off the list too.

Monday has now swung around and my fabulous kid came home.  He turned 12 on Jan. 10...you know 2 days after Elvis's birthday (national holiday in the South).
He got to go to sleep away camp from the "make a wish foundation" which his other little sister at his dad's house gets him.  She gets to pick out things for him, so that he doesn't feel left out...which I think is weird, when you really think about it, because who wants cancer? and are you really being left out?
I guess the rational is that the siblings who are well feel bad and sometimes don't get the attention they need.
Ok with that said, Ilin Blue went to Snowboard camp for 4 days, in Breckinridge, and had his own private instructor to teach him the cool stuff on his board.  He now announces that he can do everything including catch air and double black diamonds.  That's something I'll never be doing.  He looked like a real teenager when he came home.
Proud, tired and hungry...with sore muscles to boot.

He also received a letter in the mail that he is the "Student of the Month" at his Middle School.
He never fails to amaze me...
