How Could You?...returning a shelter dog

I'm going to say it here....
because all though I do not really give a single fuck what people think about me, sometimes I piss people off and then it slides back around to the hubby or family and they do not care for my mouthy opinions....
even though they are very very used to it.

I HATE WHEN PEOPLE ADOPT DOGS, OR ANY ANIMAL BECAUSE THEY "WANT A DOG" ...THEN THEY RETURN IT TO THE HUMANE SOCIETY 6 MONTHS LATER.

go read about these sweet pics and why she did Pit Bulls with Flowers

these are ususally the same people who cannot even pay their own bills or manage adult hood but feel the need to "rescue" a needy animal.  And let us be honest, most animals at the Humane Society are there for a reason....
they have issues...
they eat couches....
they have separation anxiety, etc.
SO
If you are going to go "adopt" a needy dog, you better damn well be prepared to keep it, love it, train it, and be ready for it to shit on the new carpet and eat the 600$ couch....

I have NEVER in my life returned an animal.  Have I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs from anger when my Wolf Hybrid ,Eddie, ate my 300$ boots?  Yes!
How about when the lil Siberian Husky, Foxxy Brown, pulled an entire tree in through the dog door while I was out?

Yes...But they are dogs.
I chose them...they chose me....
they count on me
and stuff is just stuff.
dog love is forever.

dog park disaster

I have bad luck at the dog park...Remember this fiasco?  I left the little dog . That was bad, funny when I look back, but baaaad.
Well yesterday, not so dramatic, but kinda bad too.
We go to this really popular dog park and it is the land of Golden Retrievers and Labs.  They all just run around chasing balls, wrestling and occasionally humping one another.  It's dog heaven.  It's not really dog heaven for the owners.  We constantly have to pick up dog poop, which often is like searching for Easter Eggs, watch our kneecaps for fear of getting pummeled by the dumb Labradors, and make sure the little dogs are not being tormented by the big dogs.  It's actually work.
Yesterday brought it to a whole new level.  As I sat in the golden warm sun of Ski Country (did I tell you we are experiencing Global Warming in Colorado?...it was 70 here yesterday!) I was relaxing...watching the parachuters fall from the sky from the little airport next door.  Daydreaming about jumping (another story). I usually just let Eddie run and play.  He's the dog park bestie.  He plays with everyone.  As I glanced up, shaded my eyes to look where he was...this is what I saw:
Ok...get it?  The person wasn't laying down, he was standing up...but Ed just lifted his leg and peed right down the back of his pants.  Here's the clincher....the guy didn't even notice, so I pretended not to notice...after all, I was a half a dog park away.
Except it was pretty obvious what happened, unless he peed on himself backwards.
I panicked, then I chuckled to myself...then I whistled for Ed and we left.
End of story.
have a nice day.

Sugar Sugar

My son attempted to please me with sugar cookies today.
I worked last night, got home at 9 am and he went to his dad's at noon. When I got up there were sugar cookies on a plate. Granted they were an odd brown color, and tasted like baking soda, but it is the nicest thing anyone has done for me in a while.
Then I went and picked up Olive from daycare, came home and the dog puked the equivalent to the amount of water which flows over Niagra Falls onto the middle of the living room carpet.

awesome
